An Introduction.
David Bowers. Jason Shawn Alexander. Marilyn Manson. Charles Pfahl
Group Show

David Bowers, born in 1956 in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. David had a successful illustration career but in 2004 Bowers decided to give it up to pursue a career in fine art. His realistic paintings have been described as a blend of Renaissance master and figural surrealist, with a touch of fantasy art mixed in.

Jason Shawn Alexander (B. 1975). Painter and draftsman from Tennessee, currently works in Los Angeles. Though modern in its subject matter, Alexander’s work pulls, still, from the vulnerability, fear, and underlying strength that come from his rural upbringing.

The artist known as Marilyn Manson took his pseudonym from the names Marilyn Monroe and Charles Manson – figures whom he sees as reflecting the ultimate and most disturbing dualism of American culture. From the beginning of his career as a musician, Manson has also been active as a painter. His manic creativity has been documented in a number of exhibitions.

Charles Pfahl was born in Akron, Ohio in 1946. He is well known as one of the foremost representational artists of his generation. Whether in pastel self-portraits or complex depictions of savagely beautiful ”archetypes,” his work is charged with dreamlike intensity and splendor.

LawrenceLeonardo Hidalgo, Jennifer Lopez, Acrylic on Canvas, 55 x 55 in; Galactica, 76 x 67 in

Leonardo Hidalgo. Recent Works.
Leonardo Hidalgo in recent years has gained an abundant amount of notoriety across the globe. His latest collection is painting the town red among many other vibrant colors.
The Ecuadorian-born latest inspiration is recollecting his past, his childhood years, which he claims now gives him the ability to see life today through child-like eyes. Today, his paintings are a true reflection of that vision. He uses bright colors, and the result is a high energy series that can help you get back in touch with your youth “and I want everyone to feel like I do, like they can be in touch with their inner child again.” He says he wants people to feel just as alive and just as passionate about life as he does; he wants people who look at his artwork to feel that same fervor.

This Polish painter, sculpture, designer, architect and poet worked with Pablo Picasso in France for a brief time. Picasso painted a portrait of him.

PressItOn art gallery has a different vision for the Miami art market. Owner Adrian Pasieka’s long term dream was to create an art gallery where harmony and education is promoted through art. Activities such as meditation groups, lectures and poem readings are indented in the near future. PressItOn art gallery is opening the doors featuring artists whom art gallery director Adela Holmes has dealt with in the past and are a must see in Miami

Asser Saint Val, Stumpt. WE (1988). The endocrinology of sunlight and darkness: complementary roles of vitamin D and peneal hormones.
Mixed Media on Masonite,
50 X 50 in

March 20 – April 12
Asser Saint Val

Asser Saint Val’s oeuvre is fuelled by dedicated research into the chemical and sociological properties of Melanin, a biological compound found in the plant, animal, and protista kingdoms that among other things colors human skin, hair and eyes.

Having conducted encyclopedic studies of what he refers to as ‘the phenomenon of Melanin’ and its manifestation in the world the artist explores the way in which science has previously been used to justify false perceptions concerning people of color. His findings, which draw from research into humans of all races, take the form of paintings often titled after scientists who have worked closely within his area of interest.

Anchored by the presence of legs his various embodiments melanin’s history – part figurative, part something you might see under a microscope – consist of an evocative mixture of media such as acrylic paint, coffee, shoe polish, flour, and food coloring.
